may be clean and dry again, but also twisted, warped, discolored, and simply no
longer wearable. How do you do it better? So!

Can I wash sneakers in the washing machine?
Not all. It is better to clean leather sneakers by hand!
Models made of fabric or synthetic leather can usually also be washed in the
machine - at least if you exercise caution and follow a few instructions. You
should proceed as follows to ensure that the shoes are immaculate and that the
laundry survives unharmed:

You can machine wash fabric sneakers
First, take the cords out of your shoes; this is the only
way to get them clean.
Put the sneakers and shoelaces in a laundry bag so that
nothing gets caught in the drum.
Set the machine as cold as possible. This is important so
that the glue on the soles does not come off.
You should better refrain from skidding so as not to strain
the sneakers unnecessarily.
Use mild baby shampoo instead of regular laundry detergent.

How do I clean leather sneakers correctly?
You already know: Sneakers made of leather or leather
inserts are not allowed in the washing machine. Because they should not be
exposed to large amounts of water if possible; otherwise, the sensitive natural
material will suffer. Fortunately, everyday soiling can be easily removed
without a wash cycle:
To roughly remove dirt from the shoes, dry cleaning with a
conventional shoe brush is usually sufficient. This is also the gentlest
method.
You should get a small crepe breast for suede, which ensures
that the leather looks new again!
Dark streaks on the rubber sole disappear with an eraser or
a toothbrush and a little washing-up liquid.
Dirty shoelaces will turn white again if you soak them in a
detergent solution and warm water for a few hours. ½ cap on a washbasin is
sufficient. Then wring it out well, straighten it and dry it lying on a towel.
How do I get filthy sneakers clean again?
If the shoe is heavily soiled, it must be cleaned with a
damp cloth. However, not in a water bath but instead with unique material and
shoe cleaning agents available in the drugstore. Necessary: Ensure that all
care products used for wet cleaning are compatible with the material and color
of the sneakers - some cleaning products are tinted or only suitable for smooth
or suede.

Let sneakers dry in the sun? D rather not!
The only thing that helps is: wait. After washing or damp
cleaning, never leave your shoes to dry in the sun or under the heater, and do
not use a hairdryer, as heat attacks pretty much any material and can cause
cracks in the surface. If the shoes are dry, you can polish them with shoe
polish or special care wipes - the same applies here: only use products that
are suitable for the material of your shoe.

Do I have to waterproof my sneakers?
The same applies to sneakers as to other models: Shoes exposed
to dirt and rain should be impregnated. Which product is right for your shoe
depends on the material. There are, for example, special sprays for leather, as
well as for textiles. Don't forget: The impregnation should be repeated
regularly so that the protection against dirt and water is not lost.
